This accessibility statement applies to the Codi application.

This website is run by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

We are looking into the option to provide a text relay service for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.

Whilst we endeavour to meet ‘WCAG 2.2 AA’ we currently have the following Non-compliance issues:

  • Incorrect use of landmark tags - WCAG Reference(s): Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A)
  • Incorrect use of ARIA attributes - WCAG Reference: Success Criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (Level A)
  • Unclear ordering of page elements for screen reader - WCAG Reference: Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A)
  • Colour contrast issue - WCAG Reference: Success Criterion 1.4.3 Contrast
  • Possible confusion caused by positioning of links for screen reader - WCAG Reference: Success Criterion 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (Level A)

We aim to have these failings corrected by February 2026.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

It is our intention to continue to improve accessibility with regular internal and external audits.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared in November 2025 It will be reviewed again in November 2026. This website was last tested in November 2025. The test was carried out by Shaw Trust and by the Digital Department in HEIW using a mix of manual testing and WAVE, axe, SortSite and Lighthouse accessibility tools.
