Terms of use
This page sets out the terms of use for Codi (“Codi”, “this application”). These terms apply to your use of Codi and the resources it provides.
You accept these terms when you use Codi. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using Codi.
Who are we
Health Education and Improvement Wales ('HEIW') (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is the strategic workforce body for NHS Wales. We have a leading role in the education, training, development, and shaping of the healthcare workforce in Wales, in order to ensure high-quality care for the people of Wales.
As a Special Health Authority ('SHA'), we have a unique contribution to make in addressing strategic and specialist workforce issues, making Wales a great place to train and work for our health and care staff and maximising the contribution of all professions and occupations through our statutory functions.
What is Codi
Codi is an innovative application, developed by HEIW which unifies legacy applications into a seamless and accessible digital solution for NHS Wales resident doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and optometrists in training ('resident professionals'), trainers and other non-training grade medical professionals. The application holds information about postgraduate training, educational supervision, and information about leave applications for resident professionals, non-training grade medical professionals and trainers in Wales.
Using Codi
Codi is available to resident doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and optometrists in training ('resident professionals'), trainers and other non-training grade medical professionals in Wales.
You need an internet connection to use Codi. We are not responsible for difficulties accessing Codi caused by internet connection issues.
We may suspend or change Codi at any time, and we don’t guarantee that it will always be available.
You must always agree to use Codi only for lawful purposes and comply with all applicable laws. You are responsible for using Codi in a manner that does not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of Codi for other users.
Your access to Codi is for you, and only to use in relation to your training, educational supervision, and management of leave applications. You must not allow anyone else to access Codi with your account.
If you think that someone else has your login and password details for the account you use to access Codi, change your password immediately and notify your local IT Service Desk in the first instance, or the DHCW Service Desk.
Services and data use
You can use Codi for several reasons associated with postgraduate training, education supervision and management of leave applications.
Things you cannot do with Codi
You are responsible for ensuring that you do not, in using Codi, infringe or violate any other person’s privacy rights or misappropriate confidential information. You have a responsibility to ensure no information or content you submit, or upload is defamatory, inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
You must not under any circumstances seek to undermine the security of Codi or any information submitted to or available within the application.
You must not introduce malware (including but not limited to viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware) or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful when using Codi.
You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to Codi or any of its components.
You must not seek to access, modify, or delete any information to which you do not have authorised access.
You must not attack Codi in any way. This includes Denial-of-Service ('DoS') attacks and Distributed Denial-of-Service attacks ('DDoS'). Any attacks or attempts to gain unauthorised access to Codi will constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
- We will report any attacks or attempts to gain unauthorised access to Codi to relevant law enforcement authorities and will fully co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them.
Virus protection
We make every effort to check and test material for viruses and other malware. However, it is recommended that you run an anti-virus program on all materials downloaded from the internet. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or computer system which may occur whilst using material derived from Codi.
Privacy notice
We collect and process personal data about you in accordance with our Privacy Notice and our Cookies Policy. By using Codi, you agree to us collecting such personal data.
Disclaimer
We provide Codi using our reasonable efforts. We can’t offer any guarantee to you that Codi will always be accurate, will meet your particular needs, or will always be available.
While we make every effort to keep Codi up to date, we cannot provide any guarantees that information will be current, secure, accurate, complete, or free from bugs or viruses.
We’re not responsible for loss or damage that may come from the use of Codi. This includes:
- any direct, indirect, or consequential losses.
- any loss or damage caused by civil wrongs ('tort', including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise.
- the inability to use or access Codi and any websites linked to or from it.
External websites
Codi may offer links to other websites, thereby enabling you to leave the application. HEIW is not responsible for the content or reliability of any linked website.
We accept no liability in respect of the content or for the consequences of following any advice included on such websites.
These websites may be subject to other terms and privacy notices. Please read those terms and privacy notices carefully.
HEIW reserves the right to reject or remove links to any website.
Governing law
These terms of use shall be governed and constructed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Copyright
Visitors and users must not reproduce or re-publish any material from this website without permission from the website / copyright owner.
Images, logos, and graphics used on Codi are owned by us and/or third parties. These must not be used without obtaining permission from the copyright owner.
You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights relating to this website belong to HEIW and where applicable, third-party associates.
